Angie,

Instead of giving your daughter 3 big meals a day, she could do the whole 6, small meals a day.  That way she could snack pretty much the entire day and not have to worry about everything.  Another thing you could do is when you do give her a snack at night time, give her some veggies.  Like give her some carrot chips.  Those would make things better for you.  Granola bars could possibly help too.  Also, if you are worried about weight gain, you could also spend time by going to the park and playing with her.  Excessive exercise could help her tone up, lose weight, and live a healthy lifestyle.  That way if she does eat more than she should, she would burn it off by riding a bike.  Also, you could try getting her involved in sports because its never too early to start children in sports anymore.  Seems like there are tons of parents who get their kids involved in many types of activities.  Keeping her active, maybe starting a new routine of feeding her 6 small meals, and allowing her to snack on carrots or granola bars or even granola with low fat yogurt could possibly reduce her weight.  I’m personally a vegetarian and I know that it has helped me to reduce my weight.  I eat a lot of soy bean substitutes and it has good protein value in it.  Plus, it has good fiber in it as well.

Good luck and I hope that this helps.  I would at least try it to see if some of these things could happen to help her.
