re: Need help with daughters weight

I, too, believe that for some who are susceptible to the meds there can be side effects of the traditional way of scheduling meds. Thr traditional way of dosing involves 2 or 3 large doses to control the hormones. Generally, a larger overall daily dose is needed to try to control hormones. These large doses and large overall daily dose can cause one to be overweight another to NOT grow (Height or weight). (Not all have problems, if in ain’t broke...) Anyway that is why even if your daughter is not oversuppressed on paper she could be having side effects from the meds. Many have seen an improvement in side effects from circadian rhythm dosing. This involves spreading the doses out in smaller doses throughout the day. Cortef has a short life in the body from 4-6 hours. WE never go more than 5 hours without a dose of meds. This method is so much more efficient that the daily overall dose can usually be lowered. We dose at 3am, 7am, noon, 5:30pm and 10pm. It’s really no harder; with each meal, before we go to bed and at 3am with an alarm clock. That is toughest but after a couple of weeks it’s easy to give it and go right back to sleep. Good luck.
