RosalieMy nephew has been moved from the ICU to a Trauma Ward but still being monitored frequently by ICU staff.
A head CT scan indicates that the bleeding into his brain has stopped. MRI shows a C3 vertebral fracture (neck) and a slightly lower neck break but no spinal cord damage thankfully. He will be in a neck brace for at least six weeks.
His lung tube (for a pneumothorax) has been removed but he is on 100% oxygen to wash out the nitrogen buildup which is still happening. His scalp and facial lacerations have been beautifully sutured (sewn up).
Seems he was found pinned under the front dashboard by the paramedics - head first and unconscious, thrown from the back seat of the BMW where he swears he had put on his seat belt. It is LAW here in Australia to wear a seatbelt, as they do save lives and major injury, so don’t quite know what happened in this instance.
Thankfully he is gradually improving. Thankyou for your prayers everyone.
