When my daughter was born they thought at first that she was not a salt waster and would not need Florinef. After about a month they decided to put her on it. As far as I understand it can help not only with the renin levels but can also help Coretf work better and therefore need less. The severity of CAH is on a continuum. It is not cut and dry. Your daughter may beneifit from Florinef. My daughter is on 1/4 tab once a day of Florinef. Also, my almost 7 year old daughter is on 9 mg per day of Cortef to give you another perspective on doses for a girl around your daughter’s age. Good luck, Julia
