B. > : )Dear NOLA_GAL,
I know you are new to this and my post is coming from the heart and not meant any other way.
I was born with CAH and not over supressed growing up and in fact at times under surpressed. I have osteopenia which is the step before osteophrosis that was found after taking a bone density test. I take Fosomax plus D to remedy this situation.
Long term use of the cortisones may be one of the contributors to osteophrosis with those of us that have CAH. Yes, this is a physiologic dose but it is still a medication and each body is different. One must also keep in mind that the in general population that signs of osteo decline starts in the 30’s anywaySo, we are ahead of the curve about all this.
I know you mean well by your posts but I’ve grown up with this condition and as in life nothing is certain or perfect.
With CAH, I’d like to see bone density tests start at least by age 28.
To Kendra,
