B > : )I would like you to write three positive things about yourself or if you are more comfortable then think think them.
God has a purpose for everyone and you matter.
You have a husband and kids that need you and that is more that some hair.
What about bleaching it a little and just letting go?
I bet you have a great sence of humor and compassion.
So you are taking ten mgs of pred?
Keep getting those blood test.
I liked your Endo because although CAH is a big deal ...life still moves along. I know you want it to stop but one has to manage somehow or just crack up for good and they don’t let you have sharp objects like tweezers te loonly bin to pull facial hair - So that isn’t what going to do. Yes, like you today I will get my trusty tweezers and pull some hair but I’ll only get a couple and just go on for today.
Anyway, I take 25mgs of hydrocortisone and took around 10mgs of pred for 33 years 5mgs- 10mgs any given time except for those couple of months where it was 20mgs and that was ..drum roll to see what would happen to the hair which was nothing but it did has weight gain and for normal people get snarky and think that I was Bi-polar ...the cortisones can make this so much fun.
It seems like this is late onset CAH and everything is serious but your endo is right because he can’t come to your exam room with you and fall apart as well because it is his job to treat you and sounds like he had a game plan from going from dex to pred - he was hunting for a maintenance dose for you that best could realistically deal with your symptoms.
His job is to keep composure to help you... and imagine that out of his 400 patients that he cried with everyone that had some excessive hair or were seething at him because his speciality decided 30 years ago to suggest to the surgical service that this patient would benefit from destroying their genitals into something that they men would like better and that patient has cancer (non- cah) may have cancer from the thyroid or might be heading toward diabetes but is so furious about the past and just glares and spits venom (me ) or that he has a patient that has a terminal endocrinology condition. What I’m trying to say is that if he isn’t doing or saying something ? then ask him to clarify becuase each case is different and there is the point that you had three children without CAH treatment.
I had my gall bladder out last year and was in the hospital for 11 days with infection on top of that - I was under the Endo care and had stress dose before and during the surgery along with extra cotisone during the day. That man came to see me every day as the in house doc mentioned that he was glad to have his help. I woke up on the Sunday with relief that the endo wasn’t goingto be there on a Sunday but I woke up again and there standing over me.....must of been a marvel it see me sleeping at peace and not bitching- crying ....endos don’t cry with you or hold hands because if they did? because if they did? then on the roof top as a jumper overwhemled from their patients issues.
Issues of any kind aren’t easy but they do build you up if you let them.
Why couldn’t you go camping with your family? but a mirror that is lighted with batteries or just a regular magnifying mirror and take it with you.
Do you exercise everyday to work up a sweat?
