Sorry, I have been out of town and couldn’t post. We use an alarm clock with nature sounds. At first both my husband and I would wake up. Now, because I was working and he was the house hubby he would give the meds at 3 and I learned to not hear the alarm most nights. He goes right back to sleep. This fall my husband broke his heel and had to have surgery and a long recovery I had to give the 3am dose. For the first week I had trouble getting back to sleep and then my body adjusted and it was right back to snooze land. I like the nature sounds as it isn’t as much of a jolt. You can pick from several sounds such as ocean, river etc. THe sounds get progressively louder until you turn it off. I also put it on the other side of the room so that I have to get out of bed to turn it off and can’t just hit the button and go right back to sleep.Julia STo Bonnie. I wouldn’t skip the 3am dose. Your son needs the meds no matter whether or not he is sleeping enough. Ask your endo if you could give the meds at a different time if he gets to bed late. But really, I think what’s best is that he gets to bed earlier. During puberty kids need a huge amount of sleep. Good luck.
