I Googled "dexamethasone" and "cleft palate" and found a bunch of research that was done on MICE ... indicating that it did, indeed, increase the risk of cleft palate in these rodents. Hard to say how that relates to human genetics ...... some things are not as "obvious" as they would seem! My aunt, who is only 9 yrs older than me, was born with a severe cleft palate (although not a cleft lip); she had surgery when she was about 2 months old, and is a gorgeous, strong and loving person. Try not to worry ... your daughter can be happy and healthy and beautiful ... even if she does have a cleft. Still praying ....Wendy-LeeWendy-Lee
