ValleriIt appears not too many folks are hanging out there. I just want to talk to someone who has a diagnosis and can hopefully commiserate with me and give me some advice on how to light a fire under the collective ass of the medical community here.
I was diagnosed in 1997 and through some life circumstances I haven’t been able to get treatment since 1998. The GP I have now did some blood tests, called an Endo in Seattle and the Endo decided that I am within "Carrier range" but don’t have the full blown illness myself. I’m annoyed because I have symptoms, and I’m being treated like I’m not suffering anything at all. I’m to the point where I really do not know how much longer I can continue dealing with this. My poor husband is powerless over my fatigue, body hair issues, fatness, etc. The worst is the continuous pain I’ve started having during my periods and the pain at ovulation I’ve had since I was 15 and all this crap started. I got cards in the mail yesterday from the doc’s office that said that both the blood panel and the pelvic ultrasound came back within normal ranges. That’s great, but if everything is "normal" then why do I have pubic hair from my belly button to my knees, a beard that has developed from my chin and neck and is now spreading to my cheeks, a moustache that would be the pride of any 21 year old male, underarm hair that goes from my elbow to nearly my waist, hairs around my nippes, and fatigue, and pain?
