Jenn, where in Utah are you? I’m in the Ogden area.
We were in a similar situation when my daughter was born 2 years ago. By the time she was a month old, she had been transported by ambulance to Primary Childrens twice, and had accumulated thousands of dollars of hospital bills. Our daughter was born at the end of December...so we had to pay the bills in Dec...and then started over again in January. We looked into Medicaid, but we made just a little bit too much to qualify for free..but they have a spend down program (I think that’s what it was called)available for major events in your life..childbirth is one of them. You pay so much, I’m not sure how much, and then they pay for your hospital bills for the month when you gave birth PLUS your babys medical bills for the next year. DEFINITELY something to look into. Here’s a link to contact a health dept person in your area....
