I need some advice on affected carriers. I took my 3 yr old (3yrs and nine months) to the GP this morning as he is very tall for his age. I have  a nine year old with SWCAH, and at her last appointment i discussed my concerns about my son with her consultant, who said my first stop should be my GP.

My GP weighed Amaan (20Kg) and measured his height (111.5 cm), this places him on the 98th centile on the growth chart. My GP said that he was ’normal’, healthy and on the extreme end of normal for his height and i should stop worrying.

However his father and I are not particularly tall, and i am still concerned, i will raise this with Alisa’s consultantt as she has told me that there is recent evidence to suggest that some carriers do require treatment.

I just wondered if anyone had any experience in this area, Alisa does not return to the consultatnt for at least 2 months.
