Has anyone had any experience with surgical wounds not healing properly?  Kristin had arthroscopic hip surgery on 2/21.  Her wounds are "weeping" and they put her on Cephalexin (antibiotic) 500 mg 4 times a day for 5 days in case she has an infection.  She has had other arthroscopic surgeries and not had any problems, but these incisions seem to have a slight "gap" at the surface.  I was reading about wound dehiscence which is where the wound does not mend back together properly and prolonged steroid use can play a part (there can be other reasons as well).  Her last bloodwork looked good, so I wouldn’t think the steroids would be the problem.  Any thoughts?
