I have a son who is 3 and he has Fragile X Syndrome and Autism. Fragile X is alot like Autism but with fragile x you know they have it because your x chromosone is broken off at the end. The repeats are what make the fragile x mild or severe. My son has a severe case. He has apraxia in speech, and in his limbs. So it is hard for him to learn sign as well. And so we have been in First steps since he has been 3 months old. But with my son when he is around other kids he tends to go up to them and try to pull their ears, and hug them. But he is not trying to be mean to them. But when kids dont know they get scared. I also know that when my cousin son comes over he is very afraid of my son. I try to tell him that Gage does not know what he is doing and so forth but it is hard to explain to a 4 year old that well his cousin has fragile x and autism and try to make them understand. I just try to keep gage away from him and when he gets close i always make sure im around or my husband is around. I also have a son that has a son who has SWCAH. But it is a hard long road with my youngest son who has fragile x and autism but I know that he is special and that he will live with me forever. But I also know that I have to treat him like a "normal" child and he has to sit in time out I know that some times he knows what he is doing so i make him sit in time out or when he throws his fits i hold him tight to calm him down.  I hope that this will help you. Just know that when you have a bunch of people in a room and there are different sounds coming from everywhere they are going to start getting upset because they are getting over stimulated and what they hear is all this noise at once and it can be very upsetting to them I wish you luck
