My son (SWCAH) had emergency surgery on an abscess on his stomach which left a sizable hole.  This had to be packed daily, for almost 4 months to allow the wound to heal from the inside out and now almost 6 months later, it has not quite healed. They say that steroids cause the healing process to take a lot longer, I have also noticed he scars badly too.
