I think there is so much danger in the world today that we have to take extra precautions regarding our children, I have never wrapped my children up in cotton wool, in fact I have encouraged them, despite having CAH to try all sports and anything within reason they want to do. I think that is a bit of a generalised statement about people living in the UK and have not come across the scenario you describe at all, it is the evil in the world today, that does not allow children their freedom. I have never heard of competitions being stopped because people can’t take loosing either. I can’t really see the relevance of saying this however learning to accept you cannot win at everything or always be right is a very important part of the learning curve.
