How is your prescription for Cortef written out?

I need to know how your prescription for Cortef is written out. What I am running into is a shortage of Cortef byt the end of the month. I think it is because the pharmacy is shorting me on my prescription for Cortef. I just caught it last week. I need 75 pills for one month, and they only gave me 50. I am wondering if they have been shorting me and I haven’t noticed until now. I am going to ask them for a print out of the past 6 months of Cortef refills and see what they owe us. But it brought me to this question. What does your prescription bottle read? My daughter’s says to give three times a day and then what time and what milligram to give at that time, but it has nothing on it about stress dosing. When I talked with the pharmacy they told me to be sure to have a new prescription written out by the doctor and have him include that we stress dose. This in turn will give us that extra in case we have to stress dose.  By the end of the month I have been getting nervous with so little left. I just know that is when I will need to stress dose my daughter and I will be short.

Thanks everyone.

Also, I have ALWAYS checked to make sure the medicine I have picked up is exactly what is in the bottle. I always make sure I read the pills. Hey, pharmacists are human, they can make mistakes so always be sure to check ANY medication you have filled.
