Our prescription says nothing about stress dosing either, but we have a "standing order" for cortisone from our endo. She gives us a 1 yr prescription at a time, and we pick it up in 3 month batches. If we run out because we’ve been stress dosing, I just tell my pharmacist and he gives us the next batch. The first time he mentioned that we should still have plenty left, but after we explained it to him, we haven’t had any troubles since.

As an aside - we ALWAYS keep at least 1 month’s supply of meds in our household emergency kit (we just rotate it once a yr) ... i wouldn’t want to try and refill a prescription if there were an earthquake or other such natural (or unnatural) disaster.
