First I must confess, that my main worry about my son,who has very mild disease is his height. I know this is shallow compared to worries that other people on the board have but I just would like him not to be really short if possible. Things were going fairly well, he pretty much caught up with his bone age but wasn’t growing really well so kind of slipped from 60th percentile to about 40th over the years. He’s 12 and just started puberty. When his labs and bone age came back his bone age had advanced by a year in 6 months but he hadn’t grown at all at the last visit. Help me out with the math. He’s about 4’11" and his bone age is 12 1/2. Don’t boys have most of their signiificant growth by bone age of 14? So if his bone age jumps a couple more times without a lot of growth couldn’t he end up 5’2" or something? The doctor says his predicted height is 5’9" but I just don’t buy it. I would do growth hormones if she would agree. What do you think? By the way, my husband is 6’2" and I’m 5’6" so the height potential is there.Bonnie
