Laura, I think fludro plays a part in suppressing the 17 OHP too. It seems that the now tend to go by the androstenedione rather than the 17 OHP as the 17 OHP gives a snap shot view of that moment in time but the androstenedione is more stable and shows 24 control. From all I have read I think this is the age where it is easy to lose control so I would ask your doctor for more tests. It maybe that your daughter needs an increase, has she had her bone age done?
So if the androstenedione was high then I think it had nothing to do with the illness but more than likely the decrease in fludro or the fact that she is at the age where puberty can kick in. I know this is worrying and I know you are passionate in your care for your daughter, so will get to the bottom of it, please let us know how things go. Good luck.
