Donna,SheilaCongratulations!
I have SW-CAH. I have had 4 successful pregnancies. I take dexamethasone. In each of my pregnancies, my dex (which is stronger than prednisone) has gone up 4-fold during the course of the pregnancy (from 0.25mg to 1.0mg). The key for me to know when to get blood work down was I had muscle weakness. Couldn’t open a jar of pickles (torture when you are craving salt!) or my legs felt weak after climbing a flight of stairs. The endo would check my blood and I would need an increase. As for the Florinef, they weren’t so quick to up it as it did tend to raise my blood pressure but it did go up (it may have doubled from .1mg to .2mb but I can’t remember - my baby is going to be 5 and my oldest is 14). GET ON YOUR ENDO! I didn’t for number 3 and she was born early due to failure to thrive. I had only gained 5 pounds for the entire pregnancy and she weighed only 5 pounds and she has some developmental delays. For number 4, I was more aggressive and he was my biggest baby (not that I have big babies but he was 7 pounds, 10 ounces).
