Dear Megan-

I take 25mgs/ day of hydrocortisone for the Simple -Virilizing CAH and .125mgs of synthroid/day up from .112 for the Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.   In the above post from Kat, i think the thyroid manager is an awesome site.

I’ve asked  different pharmasist this question about sythroid and the rest of the world

☺ -ideally it is best to take synthroid alone on an empty stomach  w/ a glass of water and wait an hour until you take anything else as this will provide the best absorbsion for the drug to do its job.

☺-If you wait 30 minutes between taking synthroid and the hydrocortisone - then it should be Ok.

☺- If you take it together with the hydrocortisone and the blood work is Ok -then you don’t have anything to worry about.

☺-If you take them together? then it’s not that good but at least you are taking them. 

☺-(from an x-ray tech) taking synthroid with hydrocortione or anything else is like throwing water in a pan of hot oil (dilutes it).

Sometime I wait and take it alone and other times I don’t.
