exams necessary after surgery?

I want to know if anyone dedided not to follow up with the urologist after surgery for their daughter.  I was so relieved at the last endo visit because she said she would not need to do anymore genital exams, just that we should let her know if there is pubic hair.  My daughter has been doing great and is scheduled to see Dr. Poppas in May for a follow up.  I heard he likes to do a genital exam once a year for 3 years after the surgery.  I really want my daughter left alone.  She has had enough doctors peaking at her genitals.  She will be 3 the end of May, and I don’t want her to keep having exams till she is 5 or 6.  What is he looking for?  If her opening closes up we are not going to do anything about it till later any way.  She has not had any urinary problems since the surgery.  I  am probably being a bit protective, but I know that kids around age 5 really start to develop a sense of privacy.

I appreciate anyone’s perspective and input.
