Lesly,

I try to hide mine too.  In fact at first I thought it was dermatitis cause I usually get it on my elbows, but this time it was definitely something more because the "usual" creams didn’t help.   I was 17 when I started to develop the red bumps on my elbows that was dermatitis.  It is very depressing because you feel like a circus side show.  Or at least I do.  My knee looked so bad in the beginning and all it took was a few days of my stress.  Have you tried and destressers like yoga, talking to a therapist or any other things that can help stress?  I know what is causing my stress, but I am unable to relieve a lot of it right now because my husband is in the military, so I have to raise my 5 month old daughter all by myself.  It’s very stressful to not get any alone time.  I give kudos to all the single parents out there.

Thank you for your email address, I will send you an email outside of the board.  I hope that things work out for you.  Btw do you use any ointments on your psoriasis?  My doctor gave me a new cream called "taclonex."  It’s been working wonders.  I noticed results in the first day.  It says to put it on 1 time in a day, but my doctor recommended 2 times.  And yesterday I was having problems with it itching and thought about 3 times.  Cause it relieves the itch.  Thank you so much for your thoughts.

Aimee,

Hey thanks for all your thoughts, I actually was nodding my head in agreement to all of what you said.  I feel the same way about the majority of what you said.  I usually don’t compare the problems I get to CAH, but I have heard so many CAH people talk about "skin" related issues.  I’ve often wondered if the prednisone or something caused skin problem side effects.  I definitely have a lot of stress in my life and this time when I was stressed, I got it pretty bad on my knee and elbows.

I’m sorry though that you have had so many issues.  My family also has the genetic make up for me to get thyroid problems.  In fact, after I had my daughter the doctor wondered if I may have thyroid issues, but it came back negative.  I’m at least glad on that.  I know it’ll happen sometime in my future and I am waiting patiently lol.  :-P  At least I can wait patiently on some things.  But most of the women have had problems with thyroid issues.  It doesn’t surprise me and often my mother has thought I may end up with diabetes because I have issues where if I don’t eat, I get really shaky.  It’s probably a problem I developed when I was a teenager.  I used to be anorexic because dexamethasone had made me gain 60 lbs in a matter of months.  So in order for me to lose the weight, I stopped eating and just exercised.  I’m doing my weight loss from my pregnancy much healther this time though.  ;-)

Anyway..I can also understand the whole doctor situation and medical people.  Constantly I am getting the run around or doctors trying to explain things that have nothing related to my issues or questions I asked them.  They’re off in another world most of the time.  I’ve come to realize that educating myself is often the only way I can truly get answers.  I use webmd a lot and I also google, yahoo search, or any other search engine I can find to figure out any issues or questions I have medically.  Doctors are the worst for explaining anything.  Sometimes I wonder if they truly do care.  I think they did in med school, but then got burned out.  But thats just my opinion on the matter.

Oh well.. thank you though for all that you said.  I will take a look into the website you gave me.  I just can’t believe how I agreed with so much that you said.. :-)  Thanks.. you’re a true blessing.  You made me feel better after hearing about this the other day.

m1,

Thank you also for your input, as I said to them up there, I thought that maybe the drugs that we take can cause skin issues.  I guess I should’ve said drugs, rather than CAH.  But I guess by me saying CAH, I was referring to the lovely drugs that we take.  I used to have dermatitis when I was 17, but I guess its developed into psoriasis.  Cause the creams that I typically put on my elbows were not helping me.  The doctor mentioned that psoriasis is a form of a dermatitis.  Oh well.. thanks though for your input..
