re: Urologist Tests

Sheala, I don’t know if this will help you or not. My oldest boy (non-CAH) had some kidney issues when he was born. He had corrective surgery on his kidney and the uretha (I mix up the uretha and the ureta but it was the connection between the kidney and the bladder). He had all of those tests and I was always with him. My 3rd child (non-CAH) was being checked due to the history with my first child and a UTI. She had a VCUG as well and I was with her, too. It is a bit traumatic if I remember correctly. My daughter was lying flat sort of between two tables (she was on one and the lowered the top one down on top of her. It didn’t really touch her but she did not like it. I was by her head, holding her two hands and talking to her the whole time. She was about 2 (she is 6 now) and she was not happy. The test is only as long as it takes her to pee.

Good luck.

Sheila
