I do wish these specialists would all agree on which is the best way to treat our children. Some say bone age x-rays are of no use as they only show problems after they have occurred, so what is the use of doing them once a year? Sometime growth is fine, my son’s growth seemed fine but his bones were advancing quickly. This was picked up too late to do anything about it, they said he wouldn’t grow anymore, fortunately he did. I would be pleased with my child’s doctor if he did bone age every 3 months (especially during puberty) and certainly every 6 months. Regular detailed blood tests are a must!
