Urine sodium test reference range?
May. 5th, 2007   11:21pm
Does anyone know what the normal range for a random urine test for sodium (and potassium) should be for a 17yo girl? The lab report doesn’t give a reference range. I’ve looked online and have only found a normal range for a 24 hr urine test for sodium and potassium.

My daughter had one urine test and the endo said her results were "through the roof." So he did a repeat test and he told me the results were normal. When I got the actual results, they were as follows: potassium 61.4 nmol/L, repeat test 43.3 nmol/L; sodium 140 nmol/L, repeat test 190 nmol/L. As you can see, her levels of sodium were higher on the second test. Her blood sodium level was slightly low, 134.

Thanks for any info!
