Danny, I’m glad Ginny is back at home now.  It really sounds like she may have caught a virus.  I’ll pray for you and your other kids that you don’t come down with it - especially when your wife is gone.  I would say the best thing to do is to make sure you have a plan, plenty of groceries on hand, any supplies you may need in the event of a virus, and arrange for someone to be available to help you if needed while your wife is away.  Maybe a neighbor, relative, or church friend.

As far as sleepovers, I used to be leary of them when my daughter was little, but I decided long ago that kids need to be kids and we, as parents, need to do whatever we can to keep them safe.  So, I was selective about where I allowed her to stay, made sure the parent was aware that she has a medical condition and if she became ill or hurt I was to be notified immediately, and that she knew to tell the parent there if she was not feeling well. It worked.  There were a few times when I picked her up early because she didn’t feel well (probably too much junk food!), but there were many nights spent with friends that she will remember.  It’s a hard decision to make sometimes, but the way I figure it, kids can pick up viruses anywhere - school, church, stores, etc.  Also, catching some germs helps to build a stronger immune system in the long run.

Well, good luck.
