Kristy and other moms of small tots

My son is 28 months almost 24 pounds, off the chart underweight, he’s short too in the 2nd percentile for height.  I believe he was very oversuppressed as a young infant. By the time I was able to switch endos he had stopped growing from 2-6 months.  He has made gains since then  on a steady curve but ’his’ off the chart curve.  There is more and more evidence (thanks to the NIH study) that CAH affects how glucose levels adjust in those affected.   I believe this creates problems for with both under and overweight.

I’m still trying to find the key to stimulating my son’s appetite. He simply refuses to be ’force-fed’ as I sometimes get the feeling the doctors want me to do to him.

Do any parents here have tips or tricks in dealing with the reluctant eater? There is such of feeling of guilt for a mom with a young child who is under or overweight, after all, we are the ones who feed them.  I just try to remind myself that CAH is a metabolic disorder, though it isn’t much of consolation when there are many people and kidswith CAH who are very average sized.

Thanks to all here!
