That POOR kid! I had a pilotnitis (sp?) cyst removed from my tail bone when I was in high school. It too healed from the outside in or as they called it, absessed, and had to have it reopened. OUCH! They never stitched it back either, and so they they packed it with gauze and had it stay open. The packing had to be changed I think every 4 hours? Can’t remember, but they had my mom flush it out with warm salt water! We found that if we got the gauze moist with that sterile solution first, removing the gauze from the area was easier because it was so RAW and the gauze would stick to the dried blood gauze and to the edges of the open wound causing a lot of pain when removing it. The dried blood became like a glue, so the water helped. Just make sure you pass that by the doctor. And make sure of course that it is sterile water. My knees literally get weak when I think of your daughter’s pain. I will send up a prayer for her. Do they suggest hospitalizing her because she is high risk? This way they can do everything through an IV. I just don’t like to mess with infections and open wounds. No thank you. My mom wished that I was hospitalized the first two days after they reopened it. And I didn’t have CAH. Keep us updated. Sending prayers your way...
