Danny my heart goes out to Linda, regarding the unjustness of this all. It isn’t just the loss of the job it is also the emotion turmoil that your wife must be feeling at present. As for the law, it is crazy. My son was very ill, (CAH) I was accused of deliberately causing this, I was unaware and blindly trusted people who I thought cared, there was not one scrap of evidence but when the consultant didn’t know what to do, or what was wrong, he blamed me.
Someone stuck up for me as they thought it was wrong, but that person cannot get involved or they will lose their job. I found out purely by accident, others admit it was said but because it was not put in writing, it seems it is not even worth my while to say anything to anyone in authority. I was warned that if I pursued it and went to the authorities, without written evidence, I maybe had up for slander, so she does have to be careful.
We were victimised at the hospital for many years and this has left my son hating hospitals so much he cannot walk in one alone. So I do empathise with Linda, it is the most terrible thing to be accused of something which is not in your nature. The people who say such things, do not realise the implications their actions cause, the effect it has not only on the person but the whole family, as it has on yours. I hope that as this door closes another opens to better things. I am sincerely sorry and it sickens me that innocent people cannot get the protection they deserve. Good luck.
