Worried DadI have a 2 1/2 year old daughter who has a salt wasting CAH. She is on Hydrocortisone(7.5 mg perday) and Florinef (0.1mg per day). It happened on May the 28th that she had a sort of seizer attack early in the morning. Her whold body was twitching while she was hugging me. She was also drenched with sweat. We gave her a Solo Cortif shot and rushed to the hospital where the doctors found that her sugar level in the blood was dangerously low, in fact it came out to be 34 which should be between 80 and 120. Doctors think that the low sugar level caused the seizer but cannot explain what caused the sugar to go so low. They also took a culture from her spinal cord (CSF) to see if she has any infection, it came out negative. Her EEG and blood tests were also negative.
Now she is back home and I dont know what to do to keep her sugar level in the normal range. We also dont know what caused it to go that low. She is otherwise healthy and has a normal diet.
Please advice what might have caused her sugar level to go that low and can it cause a seizer? She also sweats a lot when she is sleeping, I showed that to the doctor as well when she was in the hospital but he had no explaination for that.
Please help.
