re: Medic Alert Bracelet or Anklet??
Nov. 20th, 2002   7:50am

Hi Penny,

I wrote a reply yesterday, but it didn't get posted and I couldn't retrieve it. I think I left my name off the top....dumb!!!!

The gist of my reply was that; it certainly is your choice what information you impart to others, re. your daughters' CAH. I agree, that it is important to protect  your daughters' medical information, from all and sundry, (our new Privacy of Information Act practically demands it).  What she does with her information and who she tells, as she gets older, is her decision.

You are right about the Adrenal Insufficiency. The primary function of the Medic Alert anklet is to inform the necessary personnel of the Adrenal Insufficiency with which, your daughter suffers. The other side issues of CAH, need not even be discussed.
