re: Medic Alert Bracelet or Anklet?? Dec. 12th, 2002 2:19am
Hi Penny
My daughter Claudia is 5 years old in January and she has been wearing a bracelet since she was 6 months old. Many people comment on what a lovely bracelet because we, like many had one made, on the back of the Medic Alert emblem it has Cortisol deficiency with a phone number to to medic alert & reference number, all of the information is registered with the Medic Alert people where they have her doctors name and number, full condition and medication, my name, number and address. We update this every so often.
When people ask I say she has a deficiency and the bracelet is only on for emergency, however if its someone nosey I just say it allergies, smile and walk away. Claudia's teacher knows of her condition and it took me a while to understand that as soon as I came up with an answer that suited me in response to people questions the easier it was to deal with . My point is that CAH or SWCAH does not have to be plastered on the bracelet, I recommend maybe talking to your doctor regarding what's best put on it.
Anklet or bracelet its up to you, however if your girl wears tights or stockings it can be hard to see in an emergency straight away.
