re: New CAH baby

Hi Jodie,

Congratulations on the birth of your little daughter!

Everyone has given you good suggestions and I don't think I can really add much else.  Only to reiterate that primarily your daughter's condition involves a cortisol deficiency and possibly a salt-wasting dimension which are the core issues in CAH, that may be necessary for others, to know, for her well-being and safety.

The aspects of genital virilisation are side issues that need not be discussed with all and sundry, as it is information that is uniquely hers. If and when she chooses to share this information about herself as she gets older, then that is her decision.

I'm posting a website below which you may have already come across, but is very helpful in outlining the procedures for giving the emergency injection should you need to. Admittedly the 'leg' in the photos is a lot bigger than your little daughter's leg (lol) but the sequence is helpful. It's about six pages but it's worth printing off a copy.
