CAH and drugs banned in sports May. 5th, 2003 8:41am
Our daughter has just become a member of the local junior motor cross Club and has her first race coming up this weekend. We have to fill in all these forms for Motorcycling Australia because the Hydrocortisone is considered a drug that is banned in some sports. Our endocrinologist is required to fill in the forms and sign them also and we have to obtain permission from ASDMAC (Australian Sports Drug Medical Advisory Committee) for her to compete because she is taking these drugs. This year she is not in a competitive class of racing it is just for fun but next year she will have to move up to the geared bikes and will compete. They don't actually test any kids under the age of 15 for drugs but we still have to fill in all the forms.
Has anyone ever come across this before? This is the first I've heard of it.
