re: re: 12 year old swcah daughter RE: high blood pressure Feb. 26th, 2004 3:46pm
Too much florinef can be the culprit; however, in my daughter's case, it was not. She is 15 yrs old now and several times in the past she has had periods of her BP being higher than normal. We never have found the reason. Seems that the BP eventually comes back down. I do believe during those episodes, she was battling weight gain. Since then, she has lost weight and is average/thin now. In the most recent episode, she was also being treated for a chronic pain condition with a drug called Vioxx and that was causing the high BP. Be careful about any decrease in the florinef! The drs tried that with my daughter before we knew it was the Vioxx and within 2 days she was in trouble. We put her back on the Florinef, gave her the saltiest can of soup in the house and let her salt it liberally and she was better immediately. Good luck finding the cause of the high BP.
