re: Disability allowance and HC Card Oct. 15th, 2004 1:26am
Hi Lisa
We have a health care card for our 5 year old CAH daughter. We had no trouble getting one, just had the form filled in by her doctor and submitted it to Centrelink. We didn't apply for the disability allowance because we didn't think we were entitled to it. We have since found out that some people actually do get the disability allowance and I think that the CAH Support Group actually included some information in one of their newsletters on the appropriate way to fill out the forms to receive the entitlement. I have heard that the right boxes need to be ticked by the doctor for approval to be given. It might be worth contacting the Support Group to get the correct information.
