Hi Jarrod,

I have been told that you can survive on large amounts of salt instead of florinef which would serve you adequately for a time, but by not taking your cortate you could run into problems if you have a serious accident or illness.

There have been a few personal accounts in recent years from men who have had testicular tumors (sometimes because they are under medicating or not medicating) and if these are left untreated you run the risk of being infertile.

There could be long term effects that may not be easy to reverse if you continue with not taking medication.  I personally would be making an appointment with an Endocrinologist.

It's very interesting that you haven't been feeling sluggish because I would have thought that would be a guarantee when not taking cortate.  Maybe you are a very light strand of CAH.  Hopefully some other people will have more of an idea for you on the possible long term effects.

Regards

Linda
