Hi everyone, first can I say....what a great site! Lots to read and lots of interaction. I was hoping someone may be able to give me some insight as I can't (don't want to) wait till late October to see the endocrinologist. I am currently on 5mg of Dex per day and have been for almost 2 years. Since being in a serious car accident and am not physically active anymore I have put on a whopping 35kgs - am ALWAYS hungry, moody, tierd. I feel I am 'overdosing' on steroids! I won't ask if I 'should' change meds - Ide like to ask if anyone knows what the 'dangers' are or what I should look out for if I chose to switch back to Prednislone. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Other side effects I'm having - insomnia but lethargy(over tiered Im guessing) diarhea everyday, occasionally an entire motion will be all fresh bright blood (yes this has been checked via barium enema - all clear apprently?) Very forgetful - dissorientation during conversations etc, thin skin (I'm 32) and my nails break easily - halfway down my nail - alot of the times I don't notice untill they hurt or are bleeding.
Don't mean to winge but am alittle sick of it..... Any comments would be appreciated.
