Yes Hydrocortisone does have a disgusting taste. I remember having it when I was pregnant and taking dexamethasone before the birth of my son. My daughter was in hospital at the time and I grabbed all her stuff and didn't think to grab my tablets. When it came time for my dex dose I had nothing to take so took a few hydrocortisone tablets to keep me going until my husband could get into hospital with my tablets. I had nothing to drink so I just chewed them up and the taste was so bitter!
But if anyone is thinking of giving their kids sweet tasting stuff to hide the taste of hydrocortisone then please rethink. You will have majro problems later when the kids are older trying to get them to take medecine. Let them get used to the bitter taste as a tiny baby and they won't question it later. My kids just chew up their tablets and never even mention the taste. They have been raised with these yucky tasting tablets and don't think anything of it.
