re: New Baby girl - unsure about surgery
Oct. 20th, 2005   6:05am

Hi Amy,

I can only imagine how stressed you must be regarding the surgery.  My SWCAH daughter had surgery in 2003.  It went really well and we have had no complications since.  The reason we felt it was right for us to have the surgery when she was about 4 months old was because she would wee all up the front of her and she was likely to have re-ocurring urinary tract infections because of kinking internally.  Also she would have had to have surgery before menstruation and we felt that having it done while she was a baby, she wouldn't remember the experience and taking into account that babies heal very quickly.

You can email me direct if you want to ask more questions, I'd be happy to lend an ear and give you more information.

Kind regards

Linda
