re:cyclone Larry. my brother lives in Innisfail Mar. 24th, 2006 11:50am
my brother lives in Innisfail and was hit by the cyclone. Losing the gable roof off the top of a flat roof but leaking now, shed all the garden is on the windows and only lost small panes of glass. but has a inch of water running throught the house and is running on two generators. He lost a 40foot mango tree in the front yard. The only thing now is everything is so wet and trying to sleep in everything that is wet, but he is alot luckier than other. the only other thing that is happening due to the weather is the black mould is everywhere. his family are very tired just trying to get on top of things but it is going to take up to 12 months or more to get back to the way things use to be to such a grand old house that is made out of concrete. It is still raining but it is hot and humid.
So it has been a tough week for the family to get through. The major thing is that nobody was severely injured in town. It is going to take time.
