re: re: FTM with possible CAH- doctors wont listen
Jul. 1st, 2006   3:01pm

Hi everyone and thank you for your replies. To the person who suggested a vaginoplasty- i dont need one :) I still have a vagina and I had 3 kids and it is fine.. I have had a hysterectomy.

I dont think that being treated for this would have changed my outlook gender wise- but perhaps it could have helped me cope with it a lot better.. perhaps I would have gone on testosterone at an earlier age, and had a better outcome with passing as a guy. I think that my gender dysphoria and transsexualism probably are an additional issue, as CAH on its own does not cause a person to want to change gender, its more than that. But CAH is probably an additional reason.

I finally found a doctor that is willing to listen. I told him my entire medical history and he agrees I most likely have CAH of the non-salt wasting type. He however did not know the test that you suggested I have. Thank you SO much for that- Im going to see him again soon, and I will request a referral to an endo and to have that test done. I will keep you posted.

David
