re: Anyone done genetic testing outside immediate family?
Jul. 22nd, 2006   7:16am

Isn't that interesting that both your mum and dad are carriers. Wow it could have been you who had CAH!

Did your mum and dad have different mutations from each other?

None of my wider family have had genetic testing done as it wasn't around when I was younger....however no doubt the mutation is floating around among some of my brothers, other sister and their children, as well as, my cousins and their children, totally oblivious to the fact that they have it and one day it's going to pop up again in another generation. If it happens after my CAH sister and I die, then they will say "oh there's no history of CAH in my family"!!!! They simply don't have a clue, particularly the cousins. It was all very hush-hush when I was younger.
