Hi my friend!

I take my hydro doses at 3-4am and 3-4pm. Usually when I'm well I seem to do ok on that. Perhaps at the moment (recovering) I need to be slotting in a 10am or midday dose to shorten the 12 hour gap.

Hope you can try the hydro again. My initial thought when you said you had the puffiness after trying it the first time, was that perhaps the mineralocorticoid component of hydro was more than you needed. But if as you say, you still have some puffiness perhaps it was co-incidence that it happened at that time.

I agree that it is a 'gentler' steroid than Pred and Dex and I like being on it for the reason that I know it is closer to endogenous cortisol and hopefully wreaking less damage on body tissues (not achooo tissues!).

It was funny - when I was in hospital NONE of the nurses had seen oral Hydrocortisone before. They believed it only came in injection form. One night a nurse crept into my room and went to the bedside locker where the drugs are kept in the locked drawer. As I was awake she said she was going to show the senior night nurse my bottle of hydro as she didn't believe there was and had certainly never seen a tablet form of hydro. After that I seemed to have a procession of people wanting to view this 'mystical' bottle of 'Hysone' (Cortef to you M1).
