re: TMJ. Interesting story, only slightly off subject
Oct. 11th, 2006   2:13pm

Several years back, the church I went to had several college students raise money to participate in a medical/dental mission to Honduras. Once they arrived in Honduras, though, one of the girls discovered that she'd forgotten her medicine for TMJ. Since she'd be in a strange place, she knew it would act up even worse than usual. That evening at dinner, she told a friend about her problem, when across the table a man that was also part of the group interrupted.

"Did I hear you right...you have TMJ?"

"Yes," she responded, wondering why he was so interested.

"I don't mean to be nosy, but TMJ is my specialty." He was in fact, a dentist who was volunteering his services for the week to help out with the mission trip.

So for the week, the girl had her own specialist to see daily for treating her TMJ, for free.
