To M1.

M1, how long had you been on the 25mg dose of Hydrocortisone (Cortef) before they did the 17-ohp test? 40 ng/dL certainly was low - I know you wouldn't like that!

It's worth tweaking around and trying to find the dose that is right for you. I think you need to be on one dose for at least a month before getting accurate 17-ohp/androgen results. Do you have a doctor who would be happy to order you monthly 17-ohps while you are working this out, assuming you don't puff up like a balloon in the meantime?

I'm on (meant to be on) 30mgs Hydro daily - 20mg in the early hours and 10mgs at 3-4pm. Before I got sick I was trying to do 28mgs (20mg am, 8mg pm) as I wanted to see if my levels could come up a bit as I felt I was a tiny bit oversuppressed. However all my controlled 'self study' has been blown out the window now with the doses of steroids I was on when sick (400mgs per day) then Pred 50mgs per day etc etc. I extended my blood testing time by two weeks to hopefully let things settle down but I'm due for my steroid levels to be done tomorrow - so we'll see!

M1, just to clarify as maybe I wasn't very clear - the nurses had only seen the injectable form of Hydrocortisone before ie. Solu-Cortef or similar, but my oral Hydrocortisone (Hysone) are tablets not liquid - little round white bitter things - lol! These are what they had never seen before. They were extremely familiar of course with Pred and Dex but not Hydro in the tablet form.
