It was discovered that there will be a shortage of Hysone 4 (Hydrocortisone) for a few weeks. 

 

Due to an issue with raw ingredients ALPHAPHARM has not been manufacturing this product but are hoping to rectify the problem next month.  Alphapharm's Medical Director has agreed to release their reserve stock for patients with CAH.

 

Do not leave refilling your scripts until the last minute as it may take you a few days to obtain more Hysone. It would also be prudent to make an allowance for any illness that may occur. Should your child require triple doses for a few days you will finish a bottle quite quickly.

 

We recommend trying to get your script filled locally first.  If you have any problems obtaining Hysone 4 then contact your Endocrinologist or alternatively you can contact Alphapharm directly 02 9298 3999.
