Hi, our daughter who is 5 weeks old has been diagnosed with salt washing CAH. The past few weeks have been quite a roller coaster ride and have not been easy. Our daughter was in hospital for 2 weeks from birth, and was readmitted for 4 days again due to excwssive potassium and low sodium
The SHO doctor on the ward clearly had no understanding of the condition as the reason given for hospitalisation was "overfeeding" - no reference to CAH! however the consultant knows the condition better and has been very good throughout!
as we live in northern ireland we were curious if there were any other parents out there who read this board and who are from northern ireland? it would be great if there was so we could get in contact and perhaps offer support, tips etc to each other
we would also like advice from anyone concerning baby food, as our daughter has been placed on a medical baby food called SHS Kindergen to lower her potassium levels - has anyone anything to say about this food, or indeed is anyone giving it to there child
many thanks in anticipation of any replies, best regards.
Pat
