Hi Tony

Firstly congratulations on the birth of your daughter.  I am 27 years old and was diagnosed with CAH at age 7.  The doctors did not pick it up at birth because I have the condition in a very mild form and therefore nothing was really noticable.  I hope it will give you some comfort to know that despite being poorly as a child before I was diagnosed my CAH is now fully controlled with steriod therapy (I take prednisolone) and I live an entirely normal life (apart from the medication and hospital visits to keep me well monitored).  I am getting married in June this year and I have been told by my consultant that there is no reason that my fiance and I can't have normal children (there is a blood test they can do on my partner to check his genetics).

Good luck with your little girl, I expect by now you have more information, but suffice to say I wish you and your partner well.  If you would like to talk more, please reply to this message.

All the best, Kate
